These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of www.onlinetickets.ie, all sub-pages (including www.onlinetickets.ie/organisername), and any custom domain connected to the OnlineTickets.ie platform (the “Platform”).
By accessing, browsing, purchasing tickets, creating an account, or listing an event, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1. About OnlineTickets.ie
OnlineTickets.ie provides online ticketing software and related services to Event Organisers.
Depending on the event, OnlineTickets.ie may:
- Act solely as a technology provider (where the Organiser uses their own payment account), or
- Act as a disclosed agent for the Organiser (where payments are processed through OnlineTickets.ie’s merchant account).
OnlineTickets.ie does not organise, control or deliver events unless expressly stated.
The contract for attendance at an event is between the ticket buyer and the relevant Event Organiser.
2. Definitions
“Organiser” means any person or entity listing an event on the Platform.
“Buyer” means any person purchasing or attempting to purchase a ticket.
“Event” includes concerts, performances, sporting events, community events, bingo, raffles, prize draws or similar activities.
“Service Fees” means fees charged for use of the Platform.
3. Eligibility
To use this Platform:
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must have legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.
- You must provide accurate and complete information.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts where information is false or misleading.
4. Account Responsibility
If you create an account:
- You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of login details.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- You must notify us immediately of unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts where misuse is suspected.
5. Role of Event Organisers
Organisers are solely responsible for:
- Event planning and delivery
- Venue compliance
- Licensing and permits
- Insurance
- Health and safety
- Refund policies
- Prize fulfilment (for bingo or raffle events)
OnlineTickets.ie does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality or success of any Event.
6. Payment Models
6.1 Organiser Merchant Model
Where the Organiser uses their own Stripe, PayPal or other payment provider:
- The Organiser is the merchant of record.
- Customer funds are processed directly by the Organiser’s provider.
- OnlineTickets.ie receives Service Fees separately.
Under this model, the Organiser is responsible for:
- Refunds
- Chargebacks
- Fraud losses
6.2 Platform Merchant Model
Where payments are processed through OnlineTickets.ie:
- OnlineTickets.ie acts as disclosed agent only.
- Funds may be held until after the Event.
- Settlement may be subject to reserves.
The Organiser remains financially responsible for refunds, disputes and regulatory obligations.
7. Ticket Purchases
All ticket purchases are subject to:
- The Organiser’s refund policy
- The Platform Returns Policy
- The Terms of Purchase
Under EU law, the 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to leisure services provided on a specific date.
Prices, including Service Fees, are displayed before checkout.
8. Bingo, Raffles & Prize Events
Where Events involve bingo, raffles or prize draws:
- The Organiser is solely responsible for compliance with gaming legislation.
- Participation may be restricted to certain jurisdictions.
- OnlineTickets.ie is not responsible for prize fulfilment or disputes.
We reserve the right to suspend gaming-related events where legal or regulatory risk arises.
9. White-Label Domains
Organisers may connect custom domain names to the Platform.
Where this occurs:
- The Platform remains operated by OnlineTickets.ie.
- The Organiser remains responsible for the Event.
- Mandatory legal disclosures must remain visible.
- A footer attribution stating
“Ticketing platform provided by OnlineTickets.ie”
must be displayed.
We may suspend white-label access where regulatory or legal risk arises.
10. Acceptable Use
Users must not:
- Use automated systems to scrape or monitor the Platform.
- Interfere with system security or functionality.
- Upload unlawful, defamatory, abusive or infringing content.
- Attempt to bypass ticket limits.
- Use the Platform for illegal activity.
- Misrepresent events or prizes.
We may suspend or terminate access where misuse occurs.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including design, branding, software and layout, is owned by or licensed to OnlineTickets.ie.
You may not copy, reproduce or exploit content without written permission.
12. Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
Organisers and OnlineTickets.ie act as independent data controllers in respect of their respective data processing activities.
Organisers must comply with GDPR and applicable data protection laws.
13. Fraud & Chargebacks
We reserve the right to:
- Cancel tickets obtained fraudulently.
- Refuse service where excessive disputes occur.
- Recover chargeback-related costs where applicable.
14. Website Availability
The Platform is provided on an “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may suspend or modify the Platform for maintenance or security.
15. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where unlawful, including liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud
- Breach of statutory consumer rights
Subject to this:
- OnlineTickets.ie is not liable for Event cancellation, performance or quality.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability in connection with use of the Platform is limited to the Service Fees paid to us in respect of the relevant transaction.
16. Indemnity (Organisers)
Organisers agree to indemnify and hold harmless OnlineTickets.ie, its directors, employees and agents against claims, losses, fines, regulatory penalties or legal costs arising from:
- Event cancellation
- Injury or loss at the Event
- Regulatory breaches
- Gaming law violations
- Refund disputes
- Data protection breaches
- Misleading advertising
This indemnity survives termination.
17. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where:
- These Terms are breached
- Fraud is suspected
- Excessive chargebacks occur
- Regulatory risk arises
Termination does not remove financial obligations owed.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
